Join the roomThree-time defending champion Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 6–0, 7–6(7–5), 6–7(2–7), 6–3 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships. It was his fourth Wimbledon title and eighth major title overall. It was the first of three consecutive years when Federer and Nadal would contest the Wimbledon final.
