Agathon fue un poeta trágico ateniense cuyas obras se han perdido. Es mejor conocido por su aparición en el Simposio de Platón, que describe el banquete dado para celebrar su obtención de un premio por su primera tragedia en las Leneas en 416. También es un personaje destacado en la comedia de Aristófanes Las Tesmoforiantes.
