Join the roomAmir, anteriormente conhecido como Timsar (تيمسار), é o título honorífico utilizado para oficiais de alta patente, a partir do 2º Brigadeiro General e superior, no Exército da República Islâmica do Irã. O título também é usado para se dirigir aos comandantes do Comando de Polícia da República Islâmica do Irã, exceto aqueles que anteriormente serviram no Corpo da Guarda Revolucionária Islâmica, onde Sardar é equivalente ao título. Os Amirs são frequentemente graduados da Universidade de Comando e Estado-Maior (DAFOOS).
