Dennis Anthony John Sharp (16 June 1915 – 23 July 1984) fue un actor, escritor y director inglés.
Carrera teatral
Anthony Sharp se graduó en la London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) e hizo su debut teatral en febrero de 1938 con la compañía de gira shakespeariana de HV Neilson, interpretando al Sargento en Macbeth en el De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea. Los compromisos de repertorio en Wigan, Hastings, Peterborough y Liverpool fueron seguidos por el servicio militar, tras lo cual reanudó su carrera teatral en el Mercury Theatre, Notting Hill Gate en septiembre de 1946, interpretando a Hansell en Tangent.
Apareció por primera vez en el West End en Family Portrait en el Strand Theatre en febrero de 1948. Entre sus muchas apariciones posteriores se incluyen Cry Liberty (Vaudeville Theatre 1950), Who Goes There! (Vaudeville Theatre 1951), For Better, For Worse (Comedy Theatre 1952), Small Hotel (St Martin's Theatre 1955), No Time for Sergeants (Her Majesty's Theatre 1956), The Edwardians (Saville Theatre 1959), She's Done It Again (Garrick Theatre 1969), The Avengers (Prince of Wales Theatre 1971) y Number One (Queen's Theatre 1984).
Otros créditos en Londres incluyeron The Rivals (Sadler's Wells 1972), She Stoops to Conquer (Lyric Hammersmith 1982) y varias apariciones en el Open Air Theatre Regent's Park. Allí interpretó a Benedick en Much Ado About Nothing en 1958 y a Malvolio en Twelfth Night al año siguiente, reincorporándose a la compañía en 1978 para obras como The Man of Destiny.
