Benjamin Brown

Benjamin Brown (1859 – September 5, 1910) was a Buffalo Soldier in the United States Army and a recipient of America's highest military decoration—the Medal of Honor—for his actions during the Wham Paymaster Robbery in the Indian Wars of the western United States. Biography Brown was born in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, in 1859. He enlisted in the Army, and served in Companies C and H, as well as the Band, in the 24th Infantry Regiment. Over his career, Brown held the ranks of Private, Corporal, Sergeant, and Drum Major. He served in several places in the American West, as well as in the Philippines.
