Blasphemous es un videojuego de Metroidvania desarrollado por el estudio español The Game Kitchen y publicado por Team17. El juego fue lanzado para Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One y Nintendo Switch el 10 de septiembre de 2019, con Warp Digital encargándose de las versiones para consolas. Las versiones para macOS y Linux fueron lanzadas el 21 de septiembre de 2020. Una versión para Amazon Luna fue lanzada el 20 de octubre de 2020. Comenzó como una campaña de Kickstarter en 2017. Una secuela, titulada Blasphemous 2, fue lanzada el 24 de agosto de 2023. Jugabilidad Blasphemous es un videojuego de acción y aventura de tipo Metroidvania que tiene lugar en la región ficticia de Cvstodia. Los jugadores asumen el control del Penitent One, un caballero silencioso que empuña una espada llamada Mea Culpa, mientras viaja por la tierra en peregrinación. El juego implica explorar Cvstodia mientras se lucha contra enemigos, que aparecen en la mayoría de las áreas. El Penitent One puede combatir a los enemigos atacándolos con su espada a corta distancia, o lanzando hechizos que se pueden aprender a lo largo del juego. Al dañar a los enemigos con ataques cuerpo a cuerpo, el jugador gana Fervor, que se consume para lanzar hechizos. Cada enemigo tiene un patrón de ataque determinado que los jugadores deben aprender para esquivarlo y evitar recibir daño. Algunos ataques enemigos pueden ser repelidos bloqueando en el momento adecuado, dejando a los enemigos vulnerables y permitiendo que el Penitent One los contraataque para infligir mayor daño. Al recibir un golpe, la salud del protagonista disminuye, pero puede recuperarse consumiendo Bile Flasks. Derrotar enemigos otorga Tears of Atonement, la moneda del juego, que puede gastarse en tiendas para mejorar al personaje del jugador y obtener objetos.
