Tsugunai, along with Changhuan, (Atonement/Expiation), are songs by Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng. Original Japanese song was released on 1984, while Mandarin version song was released a year later in 1985. Background The song is about a man who has cheated a lady. He tried make amend to her but still went on the affair repeatedly. Having gave too much love, she told him not to take expiation as an excuse to break her heart anymore, and she left him reluctantly. Music Video The video of Mandarin version was filmed in Singapore, with some of the settings at pre-gentrified Clarke Quay and Fort Canning Hill, specifically Gothic Gates. Commercial performance Both Tsugunai and Changhuan sold globally at 1.5 million copies. including 440 thousands copies in Japan.
