Lieutenant-Colonel Charles à Court Repington, was a British Army officer and writer. Forces to resign from the army in disgrace in 1902 following the end of the Second Boer War, he went on to have a prominent career as an influential war correspondent during the First World War. Repington is credited with coining the terms "First World War" and "Second World War" and being one of the first people to use the term "world war" in general.
