David Beaton, 5th of Creich

David Beaton of Creich (died 1579) was a Scottish courtier and landowner. Career He was the son of Robert Beaton of Creich and Jeanne de la Rainville (d. 1576), a French lady-in-waiting to Mary of Guise. Their home was Creich Castle. The family were also hereditary keepers of Falkland Palace. His sister Mary Beaton, was a companion of Mary, Queen of Scots, who married Alexander Ogilvy of Boyne. Another sister, Lucrece, brought up in the queen's household, married David Beaton of Melgund. David did not have a son, so on his death in 1579 his brother Mr James Beaton became the keeper of Falkland Palace.
