David Leonard Chapman FRS fue un químico físico inglés, cuyo nombre está asociado con el tratamiento Chapman-Jouguet y la capa Gouy-Chapman. Fue fellow de Jesus College, Oxford durante 37 años, y estuvo a cargo allí del último laboratorio de colegio en la Universidad de Oxford.
