Ekrem İmamoğlu é um político turco que atua como o 32º Prefeito de Istambul desde 2019. Em 2025, ele foi suspenso do cargo por decreto do Ministério do Interior e subsequentemente detido na Prisão de Marmara aguardando o resultado de procedimentos legais em andamento. Ele nega as acusações e afirma que elas foram motivadas politicamente. Ele era o candidato presumido do Republican People's Party (CHP) para a próxima eleição presidencial turca desde 2025. Após a tomada judicialmente forçada do CHP por uma liderança anterior, İmamoğlu anunciou sua renúncia ao partido e declarou apoio ao recém-fundado New Party em agosto de 2026.
