Emergence es una novela de ciencia ficción del escritor estadounidense David R. Palmer. Apareció por primera vez como una novela corta publicada en Analog Science Fiction en 1981; la misma revista también publicó la Parte II, "Seeking", en 1983. La novela completa fue publicada luego por Bantam en 1984. La trama sigue a una niña huérfana precoz de 11 años, que vive en unos Estados Unidos postapocalípticos. Tuvo tres impresiones hasta julio de 1985, y fue reeditada en 1990 como una "Signature Special Edition" con algunos cambios menores y un nuevo epílogo del autor.
