The Pentagon has awarded nearly $7 billion in an Enterprise Software Agreement with Oracle to consolidate on‑premises licenses across the DoD, Coast Guard, and intelligence community into a single contract, with a five-year base and five-year option, aiming to save at least $441 million for taxpayers and streamline procurement. The move, part of a broader effort to eliminate fragmented software purchasing, follows a similar Microsoft consolidation and is led by CIO Kirsten Davies to improve interoperability, security, and rapid delivery to warfighters.
A new joint report from the National Cryptocurrency Association and the Pragmatic Policy Group finds the U.S. crypto industry directly employs about 34,000 people and, through indirect and induced effects, supports about 232,000 jobs while contributing $55 billion to the economy in 2026; average crypto wages are around $133,000, well above the national median. The industry remains geographically concentrated in California, New York, and Texas, with Colorado and North Dakota highlighted as rising hubs.
