El vicealmirante sir Arthur Allison Fitzroy Talbot KBE CB DSO & Bar DL (22 October 1909 – 16 June 1998) fue un oficial de la Royal Navy que pasó a ser Commander-in-Chief, Plymouth.
Early life
Hijo del capitán de la Royal Navy Henry Fitzroy George Talbot (1874-1920), DSO (un tercer bisnieto de Charles Talbot, 1st Baron Talbot, Lord Chancellor of Great Britain from 1733 to 1737) y de Susan Blair Athol (fallecida en 1951), hija de William Allison, de South Kilvington, Thirsk, Yorkshire, Talbot tuvo una hermana mayor, Nesta (1905-1994). Sus ancestros paternos incluyeron a los políticos Jacob Bouverie, 1st Viscount Folkestone, Henry Somerset, 5th Duke of Beaufort, William Ponsonby, 1st Baron Ponsonby, y Richard Molesworth, 3rd Viscount Molesworth.
Naval career
Educado en el Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Fitzroy Talbot se unió a la Royal Navy en 1926. Se hizo a la mar como guardiamarina en el acorazado HMS Royal Oak.
Sirvió en la Segunda Guerra Mundial inicialmente como comandante de la 10th Anti-Submarine Striking Force en el Mar del Norte y luego como comandante de la 3rd Motor Gun Boat Flotilla en el Canal. Comandó los destructores HMS Whitshed y , en esta última capacidad apoyando el avance a través de Italia. Finalmente fue Chief of Staff to the Commodore, Western Isles.
