Francis Compton D.C.L (20 November 1824 – 24 October 1915) foi um advogado inglês e político do Partido Conservador.
Biografia
Compton era filho de Henry Combe Compton M.P. de Minstead Manor House, Lyndhurst, Hampshire e de sua esposa Charlotte Mills. Ele foi educado no Merton College, Oxford e tornou-se Fellow de All Souls. Foi chamado para a ordem dos advogados em Lincoln's Inn e Middle Temple em 1850. Ele foi um J.P. por Hampshire.
Na eleição geral de 1880 Compton foi eleito como Membro do Parlamento (MP) por South Hampshire. Quando esta foi dividida sob o Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, ele foi eleito na eleição geral de 1885 como MP por New Forest, e manteve o assento até se aposentar da Câmara dos Comuns na eleição de 1892.
Compton viveu em Manor House, Minstead, Lyndhurst e morreu aos 90 anos. Seu filho Henry Francis Compton foi posteriormente MP por New Forest. Sua irmã Catherine casou-se com o Almirante Sir Henry Codrington.
