Fuel fue un acto musical post-hardcore efímero de la Bay Area que creó canciones tanto personales como políticas, algo que era único durante la "primera ola" del emo en la década de 1990. Fuel tenía un sonido similar al de las bandas mayormente de la Costa Este en Dischord Records, especialmente Fugazi, con guitarras gemelas y duelos de ásperas voces post-hardcore.
