Gáň

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1113. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Pozsony County within the Kingdom of Hungary.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 121 metres (397 ft) and covers an area of 6.17 km2 (2.38 sq mi) (2025).

Population

It has a population of 864 people (31 December 2025).

Ethnicity

In year 2021 was 870 people by ethnicity 811 as Slovak, 47 as Hungarian, 22 as Not found out, 3 as Russian, 2 as Czech, 2 as Other, 1 as Jewish, 1 as Ukrainian, 1 as Romani, 1 as Rusyn and 1 as Bulgarian.
