Join the roomGeorge Renardo Thornton is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 1991 NFL draft with the 36th overall pick. He played three years for the Chargers and New York Giants. On October 14, 1993, he suffered a minor stroke which ended his career.
