Gwyneth Patricia Dunwoody was a British Labour Party politician, who was a Member of Parliament (MP) for Exeter from 1966 to 1970, and then for Crewe from February 1974 until her death in 2008. She was a moderate socialist and had a reputation as an independent parliamentarian, described as ‘intelligent, obstinate, opinionated and hard-working’.
