Helmut Heinrich Waldemar Schmidt foi um político alemão e membro do Partido Social-Democrata da Alemanha (SPD), que serviu como chanceler da Alemanha Ocidental de 1974 a 1982. Ele foi o chanceler mais longevo da história alemã e teve o mais longo pós-chancelariado, com mais de 33 anos.
