C., y un ciudadano posterior de Thurii en la moderna Calabria, Italy. Escribió the Histories, un relato detallado de the Greco-Persian Wars, entre otros temas como el ascenso de the Achaemenid dynasty of Cyrus. Ha sido descrito como "The Father of History", un título conferido por el antiguo orador romano Cicero.
