Hungary es un país sin salida al mar en Europa Central. Abarcando gran parte de la Carpathian Basin, limita con Slovakia al norte, Ukraine al noreste, Romania al este y sureste, Serbia al sur, Croatia y Slovenia al suroeste, y Austria al oeste. Hungary se encuentra dentro de la cuenca de drenaje del Danube River y está dominada por grandes llanuras bajas. Tiene una población de más de 9.5 millones, compuesta mayormente de ethnic Hungarians (Magyars) y una minoría Romani significativa.
