Algunos hipnóticos también se usan para tratar la narcolepsia y la hipersomnia al mejorar el sueño por la noche y, por lo tanto, reducir la somnolencia diurna. Ciertos hipnóticos pueden usarse para tratar el sueño no reparador y los síntomas asociados en condiciones como la fibromialgia también.
