Jeon Yeo-been

Jeon Yeo-been (; born Jeon Bo-young on July 26, 1989) is a South Korean actress. Jeon rose to prominence for her performance in the independent film After My Death (2018) which earned her the Actress of the Year Award at the 22nd Busan International Film Festival and the Independent Star Award at the 2017 Seoul Independent Film Festival. Jeon's career continues to rise after she starred in the television series Vincenzo (2021) and the crime action film Night in Paradise (2021). Early life and education Jeon originally had aspirations of becoming a doctor during her school days. However, after failing to gain admission to the university she wanted, she discovered her passion for movies. While watching Dead Poets Society, a film that moved her to tears, she made the decision to pursue a career in filmmaking. While studying in Broadcast Entertainment at Dongduk Women's University, Jeon worked as a staff member for musicals and theaters. In 2009, at the age of 21, she decided to pursue acting and participated in her college musical called 'Lunatic'. In the production, she portrayed a grandmother with dementia, an experience which she considers to be her debut work as an actress and holds significant meaning to her. Career She started acting professionally 5 years later after actress and director Moon So-ri saw her in a trailer for the Seoul International Women's Film Festival and contacted her to make an appearance in the short film The Best Director.
