John Collier, um sociólogo e escritor, foi um reformador social americano e defensor dos nativos americanos. Ele serviu como Comissário do Bureau of Indian Affairs na administração do Presidente Franklin D. Roosevelt, de 1933 a 1945. Ele foi principalmente responsável pelo "Indian New Deal", especialmente pelo Indian Reorganization Act de 1934, por meio do qual pretendia reverter uma política de longa data de assimilação cultural dos nativos americanos.
