Join the roomJohn Jay (1805–1872) foi um empreiteiro de construção e, anteriormente, um habilidoso pedreiro, que possuía uma empresa de construção localizada na Cidade de Londres central dentro de Londres Metropolitana, Inglaterra, durante o século XIX e seu período de rápida expansão cívica e ferroviária em meados do século XIX. As obras variadas de Jay incluíram a construção da torre do relógio vitoriana e do relógio da cidade das Casas do Parlamento Britânicas após o Palácio de Westminster ter sido danificado por um incêndio em 1833. Jay também foi responsável pela construção de muitos projetos arquitetônicos menores, como a notável Capela Abney Park e a Capela Independente Trinity.
