Joseph Raphael De Lamar was an American politician and businessman who owned and operated mines in the western United States and Canada. After working as a ship's captain, a contractor and a trader in the maritime industry, he entered the mining business in the late 1870s. He was a member of the Idaho Senate in 1891. He was also a financier and speculator.
