Resumen
Un kingmaker es una persona o grupo que tiene gran influencia en una sucesión real o política, sin ser ellos mismos un candidato viable. Los kingmakers pueden usar medios políticos, monetarios, religiosos y militares para influir en la sucesión. Originalmente, el término se aplicó a las actividades de Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick—"Warwick the Kingmaker"—durante las Wars of the Roses (1455–1487) en England.
