Um ataque LAND (negação de rede local) é um ataque DoS (negação de serviço) que consiste em enviar um pacote especial envenenado falsificado para um computador, fazendo com que ele trave. A falha de segurança foi descoberta pela primeira vez em 1997 por alguém usando o pseudônimo "m3lt", e ressurgiu muitos anos depois em sistemas operacionais como Windows Server 2003 e Windows XP SP2. Mecanismo O ataque envolve o envio de um pacote TCP SYN falsificado (início de conexão) com o endereço IP do host de destino para uma porta aberta, tanto como origem quanto como destino. Isso faz com que a máquina responda a si mesma continuamente. No entanto, é distinto da vulnerabilidade de Flood TCP SYN.
