Malta, oficialmente la República de Malta, es un país insular ubicado en el mar Mediterráneo central. Consiste en un archipiélago que se encuentra 80 km (50 mi) al sur de Italia, 284 km (176 mi) al este de Túnez y 333 km (207 mi) al norte de Libia. Los dos idiomas oficiales son el maltés y el inglés; el maltés está reconocido como el idioma nacional.
