Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell fue una novelista y periodista estadounidense. Mitchell escribió solo una novela que se publicó durante su vida, la novela ambientada en la época de la Guerra Civil estadounidense Gone with the Wind, por la que ganó el National Book Award for Fiction por la Novela Más Distinguida de 1936 y el Premio Pulitzer de Ficción en 1937.
