Casiopea es una banda japonesa de jazz fusión formada en 1976 por el guitarrista Issei Noro y el bajista Tetsuo Sakurai. Tras cambios en la alineación el año siguiente que añadieron al tecladista Minoru Mukaiya, Casiopea hizo su debut con un sello discográfico importante con su álbum homónimo en 1979, y el baterista Akira Jimbo se unió en 1980.
