Michael Fulmer

Michael Joseph Fulmer (born March 15, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins. Fulmer won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 2016, and was an All-Star in 2017. Career Amateur career Fulmer attended Deer Creek High School in Edmond, Oklahoma. As a senior, he went 10–2 with a 0.72 earned run average (ERA), 127 strikeouts and also hit .436 with six home runs. Fulmer committed to play college baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks. New York Mets Fulmer was drafted by the New York Mets in the first round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his professional debut that season with the rookie league Gulf Coast Mets which he had a 0–1 record with a 10.13 ERA and 10 strikeouts in three starting appearances and one out of the bullpen.
