Vida temprana y educación
Goetz nació en Buffalo, Nueva York, hijo de Esther L. e Irving A. Goetz, un ingeniero de construcción. Goetz estudió en la State University of New York at Fredonia, Southern Illinois University Carbondale y la University of Minnesota, de la cual se graduó.
Carrera
