Providencia

Providencia is genus of Gram-negative, motile bacteria of the family Morganellaceae. It was named after Providence, Rhode Island, where C. A. Stuart and colleagues studied these bacteria at Brown University. Providencia pathogens of humans Some species are opportunistic pathogens in humans.
