Pythagoras é uma cratera de impacto proeminente localizada perto do limbo noroeste da Lua. T. W. Webb descreveu-a como "the deepest walled plain" neste quadrante da Lua visível. Ela fica logo a noroeste do Babbage, um pouco maior. A cratera tem uma aparência oval devido ao ângulo de visão oblíquo. Apenas a face ocidental do interior pode ser vista da Terra, o outro lado estando permanentemente fora de vista.
