Ragtime, também escrito rag-time ou rag time, é um estilo musical notado por seu ritmo sincopado ou "ragged". Originou-se em comunidades afro-americanas no final do século XIX e foi impulsionado à popularidade nas décadas de 1890 a 1910 por compositores como James Scott, Joseph Lamb e, particularmente, Scott Joplin. Conhecido como o "King of Ragtime", Joplin ganhou fama por meio de composições como "Maple Leaf Rag" e "The Entertainer".
