Robin Gerard Penleigh Boyd was an Australian architect, writer, teacher and social commentator. He was a prominent advocate of modern architecture in Australia and wrote extensively about architecture, design and Australian culture. His best-known book, The Australian Ugliness (1960), criticised what he characterised as the visual disorder and "featurism" of Australian suburbia.
