Robin Weigert (born July 7, 1969) é uma atriz americana de televisão e cinema. Ela é mais conhecida por interpretar Calamity Jane na série de televisão Deadwood (2004–2006), pelo qual recebeu uma indicação ao Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series em 2004, Ally Lowen em Sons of Anarchy (2010–2013), Dr. Amanda Reisman em Big Little Lies (2017-2019), e Abby em Concussion (2013).
Early life and education
Weigert nasceu em Washington, D.C., filha de Dionne Laufman e Wolfgang Oscar Weigert, nascido em Berlim, psiquiatra. Ela é judia. Depois de se formar na Brandeis University em 1991, Weigert frequentou a New York University, obtendo o título de Master of Fine Arts no Graduate Acting Program da Tisch School of the Arts.
Career
Após uma década como atriz de teatro baseada em Nova York, ela se mudou para Los Angeles e apareceu em vários filmes, programas de televisão e minisséries.
Seu trabalho no teatro inclui produções da Broadway de Twelfth Night, dirigido por Nicholas Hytner; e Noises Off, de Michael Frayn. Na remontagem de 2010 da Signature Theater Company de Angels in America, de Tony Kushner, dirigida por Michael Greif, sua performance como o Anjo foi elogiada como ‘full of tenderness and wit’ pelo USA Today.
