The Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences is one of the Royal Academies in Sweden. It was founded on 12 November 1796 by Gustaf Wilhelm af Tibell as the "Swedish Warman Society". Gustaf Wilhelm's society became the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences in 1805. It is one of the earliest organisations of its type in Europe.
