A fire believed to be caused by an explosion broke out at the management office of an apartment complex in Sadong, Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province around 8:29–8:30 a.m. on July 23, injuring eight people and prompting police and city officials to investigate the incident amid reports of conflicts between the management office and residents; authorities say there were no fatalities and will question those present after firefighting operations.

Overview

Sadong-guyŏk, or Sadong District, is one of the 19 guyok which constitute the city of Pyongyang, North Korea. It is on the eastern bank of the Taedong River, and the mouth of the Nam River. It is north of Ryŏkp'o-guyŏk, east of Taedonggang-guyŏk and north east of Tongdaewŏn-guyŏk. It was established in September 1959.
