Sainte-Marie (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃t maʁi] ) is a commune in the French overseas department of Réunion. It is located on the north side of the island of Réunion, just east of, and adjacent to, the capital of Saint-Denis.

Sainte-Marie has a tropical monsoon climate (Köppen climate classification Am) closely bordering on a tropical savanna climate (Aw). The average annual temperature in Sainte-Marie is 24.5 °C (76.1 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,530.3 mm (60.25 in) with February as the wettest month. The temperatures are highest on average in February, at around 27.0 °C (80.6 °F), and lowest in July, at around 21.8 °C (71.2 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded in Sainte-Marie was 35.2 °C (95.4 °F) on 28 January 1993; the coldest temperature ever recorded was 12.8 °C (55.0 °F) on 25 August 1991.
Transport & Economy
Reunion's main airport and the Air Austral headquarters are located in Sainte-Marie.
There is also a small fishing harbour, a shopping-center and a brewery in the commune.
