Samuel Colgate Jr. was an American Presbyterian pastor and college football coach. He graduated from Yale University in 1891 and then entered the Theological Seminary at Colgate University. He was the first head football coach at Colgate and he held that position for two seasons, from 1890 until 1891. His record at Colgate was 5–2.
