Sir John Doyle, 1st Baronet

General Sir John Doyle, 1st Baronet, GCB, KCH was a British Army officer and politician who served in the American War of Independence and the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. He was elected Member of Parliament for Mullingar in the Irish House of Commons in 1783, and went on to serve as Secretary of War in Dublin Castle administration.
