Steve Holliday

Steven John Holliday FREng, born 26 October 1956, is a British businessman and engineer. He was the chief executive officer (CEO) of National Grid plc from 2007 to 2016. Early life Born in Exeter, Holliday is the son of Michael J. Holliday and Jean I. Holliday (née Day). Holliday attended Okehampton College, then studied at the University of Nottingham, and gained a bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering in 1978. Holliday was elected in 2010, as a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering Career Holliday joined Exxon in 1978, where he worked for 19 years until 1997, gaining experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry. Holliday was made operations manager of the Fawley Refinery near Southampton in the UK when he was 30 years old.
