The Count of Monte Cristo

The Count of Monte Cristo is an upcoming English-language television television miniseries directed by Bille August and starring Sam Claflin. It is an adaptation of the Alexander Dumas novel of the same name. Premise The production will reportedly have a "contemporary feel" whilst remaining "faithful to the legacy" of the original work. Cast Sam Claflin as Edmond Dantès Ana Girardot as Mercédès Mikkel Boe Følsgaard as Gérard de Villefort Blake Ritson as Danglar Karla-Simone Spence as Haydée Michele Riondino as Jacopo Lino Guanciale as Vampa Gabriella Pession as Hermine Harry Taurasi as Fernand Poppy Corby-Tuech as Héloïse Nicolas Maupas Production Carlo Degli Esposti had been working on the series for half a decade. It is produced by Mediawan with Palomar in Italy and DEMD Productions in France, and in association with Entourage Ventures. Its commissioning broadcasters are RAI and France Televisions.
