The Yellow Tie is an upcoming Romanian biographical film directed by Serge Ioan Celibidachi and starring John Malkovich as conductor Sergiu Celibidache, the father of the director. Cast John Malkovich as Sergiu Celibidache Ben Schnetzer as Young Celibidache Sean Bean Miranda Richardson Kate Phillips Anton Lesser Charlie Rowe Production In September 2022, it was announced that Rupert Friend would be cast as the younger version of Celibidache. In June 2023, it was announced that Friend was replaced by Schnetzer. Also in June, it was announced that Bean, Richardson, Phillips, Lesser and Rowe were also cast in the film. Filming occurred in Romania, particularly in Sala Palatului, in June 2023.
