Scientists documented the first adult Tyrannosaurus rex trackway in the Hell Creek Formation of North Dakota, a 23-foot sequence of four tridactyl footprints dating to about 66.5 million years ago, analyzed with 3D scans to reveal gait and behavior. Found in 2025 on federal land near Marmarth, the tracks suggest a leisurely pace of roughly 3.5 to 4.5 mph as researchers plan further excavations and 3D reproductions.
