Rainbow 3 Fire Expands; Evacuations in San Diego
The Rainbow 3 Fire in the rural northeastern San Diego area expanded to about 50 acres, burning in steep terrain and threatening homes, prompting evacuations and a temporary shelter at a Fallbrook church. Cal Fire deployed hundreds of personnel along with air tankers and helicopters as evacuation warnings spread to surrounding Rainbow Crest communities and nearby areas.
