Veľké Trakany (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈʋeʎkeː ˈtrakani]; Hungarian: Nagytárkány) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1320.
Geography
The municipality lies at an altitude of 101 metres (331 ft) and covers an area of 10.67 km2 (4.12 sq mi) (2025). It is next to the Hungarian border (at Tiszabezdéd).
Population
It has a population of 1525 people (31 December 2025).
Ethnicity
In year 2021 was 1495 people by ethnicity 1138 as Hungarian, 364 as Slovak, 69 as Not found out, 5 as Ukrainian, 4 as Romani, 2 as Czech, 2 as German, 1 as Rusyn and 1 as Other.
